The thrill continues ...

April 17th, 2012 at 01:08 pm

That is the thrill of NSDs continues. It was a No Spend weekend (first ever possibly?) Yesterday was also a NSD, as today will be.

Spent a lot on Friday, gas into both cars and a major grocery shopping trip. Also spent $20 for the kids to go rollerskating (had coupons and brought some skates).

Not much new on any front. With a bit of planning, I'm staying ahead of things. The biggest thing I had looming (creating the registration forms for my parish's youth summer programs), I finished on Sunday. Now I'm forcing myself daily to take care of one small task associated with the volunteer work. And I'm becoming better organized for the volunteer work that we (DH and I) do but are at stand stills.

Well, that's it for the Tuesday check-in. And tomorrow's planned spending should be no more than $10 (two trash stickers and six avocados - last day of the buy one, get one free sale)!

Totally jealous. I've had one or two measly no spend days this month. How do you do it??

No need to be jealous - my last finances for the previous two-week period were trashed - Easter spending, lack of menu plan, etc.

Unfortunately, at this point it has be "all or nothing." The money for this two-week period (which was limited due to having to make the final IRA contribution and paying cash for our annual pass for an early bird discounted price) is very planned, simply because it has to be.

For once, I know exactly what we're eating for dinner (and for the next four dinners) and I also know how much we have left for gas (it helps that I'm limited my driving due to the high gas prices). So, with discipline, I'm finding better control all the way around.

    Call me a "reformed spender"!

I loved summer camp when I was little. We always went to either Camp Calvary or Indian Creek Camp. I always wanted to be a camp counselor. I was to be a CIT one summer but had a horrible kidney infection, so had to go home.
