(Unserious) Hope for the day

August 3rd, 2010 at 03:28 pm

That my newly-dumped brother doesn't co-sign on a lease for his gold-digging ex-girlfriend.

It is bad enough that he is giving the ex-girlfriend's daughter his 1992 Lexus.

And my mother hopes that he changes his will so ex-girlfriend doesn't get his house in the event of his untimely death.

I am:

Happy for my marriage and the health of my family. Nothing is perfect, but I don't really want anything more than I have right now.

We return to the regularly scheduled program ...

Why would he even consider co-signing a lease? He obviously cares a great deal about her but needs to realize the feeling isn't mutual.

He is a sucker for being "needed" - he rescued this girlfriend from the slums and her daughter from a bad school system four years ago. I am not sure if he realizes that the relationship is "over and done" despite the writing on the wall, and I am afraid he will be easily manipulated on the pretense that things might be continue in the future.

Hmm, so... your brother has some kind of issue as well? Not just the ex? No offense, but he doesn't seem to be behaving like someone who is thinking this clearly....

Also, a crude question if I may: Is this ex physically attractive? Sorry, just curious about what's going through his mind.

It's so hard to see a family member taken advantage of. Have you tried talking to him at all?
