Knocked down and out by the flu

October 26th, 2009 at 06:09 am

Not exactly me, but my oldest daughter is pretty sick right now - 102.6 temp (just prior to ibuprofin) and aches and pains. younger daughter is one day further into her journey into illness, and is less achy and less feverish, but still sick.

I sent the youngest school-aged one to school as he is symptom-free. The younger ones are still sleeping, so I don't know how they will be faring.

I had almost no sleep last night - the Disney Channel isn't that entertaining in the middle of the night. I am just not that into Little Mermaid episodes. I am sneezing, but no chills.

I am showered and waiting to call the pediatrician at 8:30 to get the girls in. I have hopes that maybe Tamiflu can help.

I'd appreciate any positive vibes for health and sanity today (my children don't weather illness very well).

I did get DVDs from the library yesterday when I realized the girls would be home.

We just used the last of the acetaminophin and the ibuprofin. It is on sale at Walgreen's today - liquid is the preferred form of meds here and I will have to restock my arsenal.

Hope the fellow SA bloggers and your homes are germ-free.

Oh dear, sleep when you can,as it would be awful to come down with flu while already running a sleep deficit. It is hard seeing your children so sick, isn't it?

My youngest is home today with dad and the little girl I sit for has it. Just fever, cough, little bit of runnies. She slept in this morning and I just gave her some Tylenol cold/flu med. Will see how she does. Poor thing was sick for her birthday! :-
