My best friend was home sick today and decided to enter into a credit counseling program that will reduce her credit card payments down from $800 to $576 and cap her interest rate at 8%. In four years she will be done and she can keep one credit card for emergencies. This is probably a smart move on her part given her past history and situation.
She said to me, "You are lucky you aren't in my situation."
To that I said, "Luck has nothing to do with it." I wanted to go on and say I'm prudent and a planner and a worrier and all of that, but I think it was understood.
I got off the phone and checked my mail.
Two years ago my daughters switched dance schools and with that I returned to the school two wool dance uniforms for resale. There are two used dress sales a year and apparently these two dresses finally found homes with new dancers.
There was a nice little check for the sum of $252.00. I've got a big ole smile on my face and I think that the luck o' Irish found me today!
I guess I am lucky.
"Luck has nothing to do with it."
