I can save ...

October 19th, 2009 at 06:16 am

$.05 on my purchase at Target if I take my items home in my own recyclable bag. (Learned this from reading the bottom of my receipt.)

That is all I've got.

Target just started that. I take 7 bags with me every week...so an additional $0.35 in my pocket.

Well it certainly does add up then, doesn't it?

I will be inclined to bring my own bag next time. No sense frittering away free money!

I wish we had a target!!!

A nickle here, a nickle there, pretty soon it starts to add up... if you'll read my humble beginnings on my $20 Challenge, it started w/pretty near a nickle! And quarters, nickles, dimes, & mostly pennies made it stack up after a few years.

So, it was 34 cents, but many times it was only a few pennies to throw in there...

Yes, they just started doing that at my Target! We've been bringing in bags for ages, but just last week they started the discount thing. I love it--now all of my main grocery stores give me 5- or 10-cent discounts for my reusable bags. Smile

It's hit or miss at my Target, but they're getting better. We went there the other day to buy just ONE thing, and I took in a bag just to get the discount. Big Grin

Good tip - I'll have to check ours.

We do that for our groceries.

I never remember since I don't shop much. But I think I better start remembering. Big Grin

Hey - every little bit helps!

That is a great way to add up the nickels and help the environment at the same time! Smile

Lately its been tough to find even $0.05 on the sidewalk. So this is gravy. My only additional advice is to use bags you've gotten as gifts, and never try to buy a bag.
